Territorial methanization
Methanization unit
Bournezeau (85)
The project
This unit will process 31,000 tonnes of material per year, producing the average energy consumption of 2,000 households, and thus avoiding 4,200 tonnes of CO2 equivalent. Local resources (livestock and plant effluents) will be recycled to produce energy (biomethane) and a digestate with high agronomic value. Extended operation (20 km) in collective self-consumption between the methanization unit and various nearby plants. Around 100 MWh exchanged during the winter period, representing 10% of the unit’s consumption.

Learn more about territorial methanization
Regional anaerobic digestion recycles organic waste from your local area to produce local renewable energy in the form of biogas. It helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, manage waste sustainably and produce digestate that can be used as a natural fertiliser. A circular solution that supports the local economy and boosts the region’s energy self-sufficiency.
